2022 Fall Meet Delivers Colorful Train Action

Live steam railroaders from LALSRM and many other clubs, gathered at our annual Fall Meet, October 7-9, bringing family, friends, and an abundant variety of train equipment. A lively spirit of anticipation and camaraderie permeated the three day weekend. Add to that perfect Fall weather, lots of good food, the President’s Auction, souvenir tables overflowing with new items, Bingo, camping, the Disney Barn, and a couple of movie nights, and you get a very colorful Fall Meet.

The tracks were busy, but never jammed. Trains ran throughout each day and late into the night. We had friends join us from Riverside Live Steamers, OCME, Chula Vista Live Steamers, Sagebrush Short Line and Southern California Live Steamers.

“The overall consensus that I heard was, we had about the same amount of people as last year’s Fall Meet, but more locals … and definitely more trains on the track this year. And it definitely appears fun was had by all!” said member Collin Westphal.

LALSRM holds two major Meets a year, our Spring Meet over Memorial Day weekend and the Fall Meet on the first full weekend of October. We operate on a mainline track of about a mile long, with three tunnels, a 68′ long truss bridge, several other bridges and a fully-automated signal system. Our layout supports three ground gauges: 7-1/2″, 4-3/4″, and 3-1/2″, as well as an elevated Gauge-1 layout and a G-scale garden railroad.
